Bilingual German and English wedding invitations

When the family in Munich, Vienna or Zurich reads German and the friends from London, Dublin or Chicago read English, one side usually ends up with a translation in small print. Wedvitation gives each guest the whole invitation in their own language: German at one link, English at another.

Two complete invitations, a link for each language

Choose the invitation's main language, then add German or English as the second for $10. The German link goes to everyone who reads German, the English one to friends, colleagues and in-laws. A small button in the invitation's corner also lets each guest switch language.

The design's wording is already written in both. You write only your own details — names, venue, address, schedule — once in English and once in German, for example “Champagne reception in the castle garden” on one link and „Sektempfang im Schlossgarten“ on the other.

Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and guests from further away

A wedding by the Tegernsee, in the Wachau or on Lake Zurich often brings guests who don't read German. They open the English link, see the date and the schedule in their own language and find the venue with one tap in their maps app. And when the couple lives in London, Oma and Opa in Graz or Hamburg still get their invitation in German.

What each guest gets

  • An RSVP built into the invitation, with no app or account
  • A button that opens the route to the venue in their phone's maps app
  • Add to calendar, and a countdown to the wedding
  • Music from our library or your own song, and the design's animated opening
  • The same link by WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram or email

All RSVPs in one dashboard

Whether a guest replies on the German or the English link, the answer lands in the same dashboard with the head count and their message. Download the list as a CSV spreadsheet for the venue. There is no limit on guests and no expiry date.

What you pay

$29 for an Essential design or $49 for a Premium one, plus $10 for the second language — paid once, when you publish. Until then, building and previewing is free.

Try a design in German and English

Open a demo in either language, then switch with the button in the corner, the way your guests will.

Questions

Is one link enough?

Yes, because every guest can switch language with the button on the invitation. Sending each guest the link in their own language is still simpler, since it opens in the right one.

Do I have to write the German version myself?

Only your own details. The design's wording already exists in German and English; you add names, venue, address and schedule in both.

Can I make a save the date in both languages too?

Yes. There are save-the-date designs, as well as designs for bachelor and bachelorette parties, bridal showers and birthdays, and each can be written in German and English.

Can I add French for the Swiss side of the family?

Yes. A third language costs $10, a fourth the same, each with its own link.
